Edgar Soberón is a widely experienced instructor in
painting, drawing and printmaking. He has been teaching privately and
in small groups in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, since 2002.
Soberón teaches classes in drawing, painting and printmaking. Classes are open to beginning and advanced students; no previous experience is necessary. Classes are taught one-to-one or in small groups limited to three students. Each class session runs for 3 hours and costs 45 USD or the daily peso exchange rate. Long-term students are eligible for a reduced rate; please inquire about a monthly rate or package of lessons.
Classes run year round and are taught in either English or Spanish. They are held at Soberón's studio or on site for landscape work. Students can purchase all of their supplies once in San Miguel.

Edgar Soberón was a member of the faculty at Parsons School of Design in New York where he taught for 10 years. In 1996, the New School University and Parsons granted Soberón the distinguished Teaching Excellence Award for his contributions to art education.
For over 20 years he has assisted and collaborated with numerous master printers in New York City, working with studios such as Derričre L'Etoile, Maurel Studios, and MOK Studios, among others.
His work can be found in the collection of the Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Museum of Art at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, New Jersey, The Library of Congress, Washington D.C., El Barrio Museum, New York, New York, The Hechinger Collection, Washington D.C., and others.
